In 1986, at the 4th Republican Exhibition "Always Alert", Juris Utāns presented a cycle of paintings depicting events in the history of Latvian firefighting.
All these paintings have been in the collection of the Latvian Firefighting Museum since 1986. The exhibition commemorates the artist who passed away a year ago and gives an opportunity to get acquainted with Juris Utāns' unusual approach to the interpretation of historical facts. Each painting is accompanied by a commentary, illustrated with a testimony from the event depicted in the painting. The exhibition is also the first step towards the 45th anniversary year of the Latvian Fire Museum.
