The 160th anniversary of Latvian firefighting started on 17 May with the traditional meeting of fire service veterans, opening a new thematic exhibition, capturing today's page of history in a common photograph, sharing memories of their years of service together. On Firefighters' Day, Colonel Mārtiņš Baltmanis, Chief of the State Fire and Rescue Service, welcomed the participants, warmly thanked colleagues from previous generations for their joint contribution to strengthening the service, wished the veterans good health, good spirits and good luck.
In the evening, the Museum joined the Museum Night events, including a demonstration of the VUGD's latest vehicles and equipment at the Firefighters' Square, 5 Hanzas Street.
