On 17 May 2025, to mark the 160th anniversary of firefighting in Latvia, the Latvian Firefighting Museum will open a thematic exhibition with a timeline of historical events tracing the development of the fire service in the territory of Latvia since 1865.
This development is divided into four key periods: firefighting during the Russian Empire (1865–1914), the Republic of Latvia (1918–1940), the Soviet era (1945–1991) and the post-independence period.
