On the evening of November 21, 2013, the collapsed cover of the MAXIMA supermarket in an area of 1,500 meters took the lives of 54 people, including three rescuers. Unrealized dreams, longings, hopes, plans and unrealized started works remain under the rubble...

Rescue work was carried out tirelessly by 493 firefighters, Emergency Medical Service teams, State and municipal police, units of the National Armed Forces and countless companies, involving their engineering equipment and resources, for almost four days.

The tragedy cannot be forgotten by the relatives of the deceased, the victims, the participants of the rescue work, many are reminded of it not only by moral suffering, but also by physical injuries. So that such misfortunes do not happen again in the future, it should not be forgotten by anyone.

A thematic exhibition at the Latvian Fire Museum offers a glimpse into some episodes of 10-year-old events.
