Every year at the end of November, the traditional competition "Look after the Fire" organized by the Children and Youth Centre "Daugmale" and the Fire Fifting Museum of Latvia Riga four 4th grade students. For the second time the event takes place in a pandemic sittuation – the solutions of the competition tasks have been sent and evaluated remotely.
The content of the competition included theoretical and graphic tasks. The participant of the competition chooses a theoretical question - regarding safe operation of electrical appliances, procedures for the provision of first aid, correct calling, informing and communication of fire-fighting, rescue and other services. The graphical section shall depict the solution of the selected theoretical question.
This year 60 students from Andrejs Pumpurs Riga Primary School No.11, the Centre for Artistic Creation "School of Practical Aesthetics", Riga Secondary School No. 66, Riga Kengarags Secondary School, O.Kalpaks Riga Folk Arts Primary School and Riga Secondary School No. 45 participate in the competition.
