Today, on November 18, in honour of the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of national independence of the Republic of Latvia, in a solemn event in the museum for participation in the management of the Chernobyl NPP emergency relief works and the establishment and maintenance of the support system for participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident of Latvian nationals, the President of the Latvian Union "Chernobyl" Arnolds Arvaldis Vērzemnieks was presented with the Award of the State Fire and Rescue Service - medal "For contribution to the international  assistance”. We sincerely congratulate A Vērzemnieks on his significant award, wish good health, further success in improving health care and social guarantees for participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl

The museum's collection also solemnly handed over the relic of the Ķisļyak firefighters dynasty, a helmet inherited from his father-general, dr. Yuri Kislyak, to his son, Captain Maxim Kislyak, reaffirming the viability of the motto "One for all, all for one" of firefighters, even in the conditions of the modern virtual world.
