At the end of the year, the President of the Latvion Union "Chernobyl", Arnolds Ārvaldis Vērzemnieks, gave an overview of the achievements and plans for the future.

For his significant contribution to the treatment of the Chernobyl accident victims and to the education of medical professionals, the President of the Latvion Union "Chernobyl", A.A. Vērzemnieks and member of the Board, Chairman of the Award Council Māris Šops awarded cardiologist Māra Vītola, a physician of Paula Stradiņš KUS, and Juris Laimīte, coordinator of the association "Chernobyl" in Rūjiena- Naukšēni, with the Honorary Sign of the Latvian Union "Chernobyl", noting their participation in the Chernobyl emergency response works and personal contribution to the establishment of the Volunteer Fire Station in Naukšēni.

 Ģirts Ābols  received the Medal of Honor of the Latvian State Defense Fund "Lāčplēsis" for his active support to the people of Ukraine and soldiers at the front.
At the event, gratitude was expressed to the supporters of the "Chernobyl" association - the Zaicev family from Riga, Jānis Ievītis, Vladimirs Meščerjakovs, Harald Neiburgs, Vladimir Fjodorovs, Jānis Bogdanovs, Žorž Kudrjavcev, Dainis Pēteris Kļaviņs, Ainars Upenieks.
Those present warmly thanked the doctor for his lifetime investment in medicine and the education of young specialists, and presented a bouquet of flowers with good wishes to the doctor, Dr. Med. To Tija Zvagule.
The certificate of the association was presented to Zigmunds Ameters, who this year has taken on the responsibility of managing the association's department in Jelgava region.
