Ievadplanšete ar tekstu un trīs planšetes ar šervoniem

From April 30, the permanent exhibition of the Latvian Fire Museum is complemented by a collection of firefighter uniform chevrons.

The chevrons symbolizes the wearer's profession, where one belongs and the values one holds. Since the late 19th century, the Greek cross with rounded edges of equal length has been the symbol of the fire service in the USA. The Gothic shield has dominated fire service symbolism in Europe. These symbols are often used in combination.

The chevrons symbols of firefighters from the Latvia, Europe, Australia, the USA and other countries can be viewed at the exhibition. The collection was created by Latvian firefighters in cooperation with rescuers from other countries.
